I've tried three times now to be a blogger. I've made three different blogs about three different things, trying to meld my interests into something unique and engaging. The problem is I have so many "interests" I have to work hard at categorizing and being thematic so that my blog isn't just another collection of random crap.
Well… my new goal is for this blog to be a collection of random crap. The more I try to streamline and write for an audience, the more hassle it becomes, the more time it takes and the less I want to do it.
I have goals and dreams and visions; I believe this blog to be a pathway to one of those visions. But instead of stating my agenda and writing with vigorous purpose only to be disappointed at my lack of followers, I think I'll just do what I do and see where it goes. I know what it's for, I know what it will do for my thoughts and how it will organize my ideas. It doesn't really matter if it's interesting nor if it really ends up helping at all. Life is a creative process.
I tried the whole "throw your cautions to the wind" blog, where I believe my vivid honesty and passion will seep through the keys into my writing and people will be able to see and know and understand my soul by the snippets I choose to share. I tried the "it doesn't matter if no one reads it" rhetoric, but was secretly pouty each time I logged on without notifications. Even now, I write with determination to make a point, choose a voice, direct this monologue into something useful.
Point is, that's way too much effort. I'm far too busy trying to figure out my life, fit my loved ones into my schedule and keep a little time to feed my heart and soul… and I really have a flare for procrastination.
Not everything here will be in context to anything else. Not all of it will have explanation, theme or purpose. Some of it may be totally bland and useless to passers by and some exciting and inspiring. It won't be updated regularly and it won't be well-written. It'll be just another redundant non-contributing blog of someone who thinks they're important enough that the world wants to hear their mumbled thoughts.
